Record list
If you want to make it to the record list, your catch will need to reach/exceed the following minimum weight limits :
- Carp 15 kg,
- Grass 15 kg,
- Perch and pike 5 kg,
- Asp 4 kg,
- Catfish and bream 25 kg,
- Barbel 3 kg,
- Other fish species (including tench) 2 kg.
If you catch any of the above fish, the catch must be certified. After the fish warden weighs, certifies, and tags the fish, it must be released back into the river. At the end of the year, you will be entered into a drawing, where 50 free annual fishing licenses are raffled off among those who caught record fish.
Quota
Fishing quotas in the RSD branch of the Danube River in Hungary
- “Long-range carp fishing using a bait boat” licence holders: daily limit: up to 3 pcs per day, but at most 2 pcs per species per day. Native fish species (not subject to the above limit) up to 5 kg per day.
- General adult fishing licence holders: daily limit up to 5 pcs per day, but at most 3 pcs per species per day. Native fish species (not subject to the above limits) up to 5 kg per day.

Fishing regulations
The most important thing when you arrive is to learn about the local fishing regulations and limitations at the RSD Branch in Hungary. With an annual license, for example:
- Allowance to keep up to 60 kg of noble fish per year (such as carp)
- Allowance to keep up to 60 kg of other fish (bleak, bream, roach, etc.)
- Allowance to keep invasive fish species (such as various bighead carp, dwarf catfish, silver crucian carp) is unlimited in quantity.
Specific closed seasons also apply. For example, during the catfish’s spawning period in May, you have to release the catfish immediately, and in this period, the fish cannot be part of the record list. You can also keep carp under 6 kg.
